![]() ![]() ![]() Ultimately, it all comes back to that context. In tablet mode, the touchscreen functionality is fairly slick, with only occasional stuttering from the interface when swiping or scrolling.Īs for battery life, this is one seriously long lasting machine, notching up over 16 hours of video playback. The Lenovo Flex 3 feels pretty responsive, whether it’s streaming video or working in Google Docs. So, outright performance and local storage are not as critical.Īll of which means that the subjective experience is much better than you’d get in the Windows environment with the same hardware. However, the Chrome OS environment is both less demanding and also cloud-centric. Were this a Windows laptop or convertible, that would be enough to have us running for the hills. All told, it’s a pretty unimpressive technical line up that represents a bottom-rung Intel-powered solution. That’s a dual-core chip derived from Intel’s low-power and low-cost Atom line of processors, rather than the premium high performance Core family.Īlongside the Celeron chip is 4GB of system memory and just 64GB of eMMC-style storage. ![]() Processing power comes from an Intel Celeron N4020 CPU. While this does have a USB a port, a USB c port, a headphone jack and an sd-card slot.the sd-card slot is not ideal-the card sticks WAY out of the side when using, so keeping a card in is not a great option. If the sheer quality of the Flex 3 is surprising, its core specifications are less so. I think the Duet-based on some later research, has a much more recent ARM chip-so we'll see if it is faster or not. I probably will return this and get the duet for better screen and portability and will report back on some comparisons. In my initial tests of using google docs to type up some stuff.there was some lag at times.I think the processor is an older arm-great battery life, but not amazing performance. I think $179 is a decent price, but I would never pay $279 for it. It was brighter than I thought and the lower res screen is not that bad on an 11.6 size screen, but text is not super sharp. Screen quality is not great but not terrible. The speakers are not great but pretty loud. ![]()
